Styling: Black & White (Mix & Match)
Create a Black and White Couture Style wearing Virtual Diva Couture products.
My inspiration for this challenge is the Burlesque fashion. I see Burlesque as a form of rich and varied art form. It brings together an interesting combination of dance, comedy, variety and parody all rolled up together in a delicious concoction of theater.
In the height of it's popularity back in the early 1900's, it was considered a bit of a taboo, yet today it has evolved to an art form that empowers the female body and has stood the test of time, surviving many other fashion trends throughout the years.
Today, the burlesque style mixes elements of the different defining periods of its own popularity, combining Victorian corsets with vaudevillian influences and even pinup and rockability styles.
With all that in mind, first of all I selected the VD Dark Swan Outfit, and only used the top and feather wings, the top is a beautiful black corset type top. The feathers really shout burlesque! I then chose the skirt from VD Mirror Gown Couture Bride, to give the outfit that festive look. I added a very chic hat from LODE, and jewelry is from VD Dark Swan. To complete the outfit I used KC Sylvia Heels.
The beauty of burlesque is its diversity and the way it allows you to combine trends from different eras to create something totally unique.
